The Courtyard - (Left) The Jacobean South Wing was completed in 1619. - (Centre Left) The east wall of the Great Hall is filled almost entirely by an immense 17th century window with small leaded panes divided by oak mullions and transoms, it was built by Thomas Ferrers in the mid 15th century (c.1437). - (Centre Right) Tudor North Wing Stair Tower. This is the earliest brick building in the Castle and was built during the residency of the Ferrers family. - (Right) Dating from the 13th century (c.1220), the North Wing comprises the oldest apartment building within the Shell-Keep.
